Question 1

What exactly does the candidate do?

Accepted Answer

They open the link, sign in with GitHub, pick one or two public repositories they built, and say which AI tools they used. Then they take a 20-minute voice interview from a laptop about those projects: why they built them, the decisions they made, what breaks, and how they would change the code.

Question 2

What do I get?

Accepted Answer

A one-page report, usually within the hour of the interview: a two-minute read with a hire signal, what they explained and what they couldn’t (with file names), three questions for your final round, integrity signals, AI use, flags from their repositories, the interview audio and a PDF.

Question 3

Can it prove they didn’t use AI or have someone else answer?

Accepted Answer

No tool can prove that, and we won’t claim it. The questions are about their own decisions and commits, which are hard to answer for someone else, and the report shows answer timing, tab switches and typing sounds as signals to probe. Use it before your final round, not instead of it.

Question 4

Is it fair to nervous candidates?

Accepted Answer

The interviewer gives a hint before moving on, so a nervous candidate can recall what they built. Answers that needed a hint are marked, and integrity signals are shown as observations, never as a verdict.

Question 5

What if their best work is in private repositories?

Accepted Answer

We read public repositories only for now. A candidate can make one representative project public before the interview. If the public code is too thin to judge, the report says so and that check is free.

Question 6

What do you record, and who sees it?

Accepted Answer

The interview audio and transcript, never video. Only your team sees the report, through its private link, and the candidate keeps their own Proof Card. Audio is deleted automatically after 180 days. We keep metrics and short excerpts of the code we asked about, not their repositories.

Question 7

Will good candidates drop out over an extra step?

Accepted Answer

It replaces a take-home rather than adding to one: 20 minutes on a project they chose and already built, with no puzzles and no camera. If they haven’t started, they get a reminder at 48 and 96 hours, and you can nudge them from your dashboard.

Question 8

What does it cost?

Accepted Answer

Your first check is free. The Shortlist Sprint is 3 candidates for ₹5,000, compared side by side, each report reviewed by a founder, with a 30-minute review call, paid after you see the reports. After that, ₹2,500 per candidate, with no subscription. Candidates never pay.
